Handling your charge yourself, such as paying off your traffic
ticket or pleading guilty to a criminal offense, could result
in points assessed on your driver’s license, increased insurance
premiums, or a criminal record. Under North Carolina law, any
points assessed on your driver’s license remain there for three
years.
Having an attorney represent you in court could result in having
your charge substantially reduced in a manner that would offset
any attorney’s fees paid, along with the possibility of a more
favorable outcome on your particular case.
